Marius Oosthuizen
Biography
Marius is a member of faculty at South Africa’s Gordon Institute of Business Science at the University of Pretoria, as well as the programme manager for the ‘Future of Business in South Africa Project’, a future studies project in the Centre for Business Analysis and Research. His focus is on the future of key industries and sectors within South Africa, Africa and the BRICS nations, within their larger political and social context.
He has studied leadership and ethics, systems thinking and social change theory, forecasting, scenario planning, strategic planning and change management and enjoys helping leaders think about the future in ways that integrate strategy and ethics. Marius is an experienced lecturer and public speaker, and teaches in the areas of strategic foresight and anticipatory management, scenario planning, leadership and strategy, ethics and systems thinking.
Marius is a graduate of the Oxford Scenarios Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, UK. He holds a Masters in Strategic Foresight from Regent University, Virginia Beach, USA an Honours Bachelor in Systematic Theology from the University of South Africa (UNISA) and is completing a Masters of Arts in Applied Ethics (Social, Political and Business) with St. Augustine’s College, Johannesburg. He is a member of the Advisory Council of the Association of Professional Futurists.
